THE KEVIN BORICH EXPRESS (QLD)
Since gaining nationwide attention in the'70's fronting The La De Da's, then forming The Kevin Borich Express, and on to The Party Boys and more, Borich has well and truly paid his dues. As a performer, his energy and enthusiasm for playing live is undiminished - his legion of fans underscore this every time he walks onstage. As a guitarist Borich's mastery of wah wah & vibrato plus his 'take no prisoners' approach, invokes primal responses from fans much the same way as Hendrix did. Borich has appeared at legendary events such as Sunbury and Rockarena, alongside Fleetwood Mac, The Little River Band and Santana - with whom he was invited onstage to play with. Supports for international stars like Elton John, Status Quo, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy can also be added to the resume. Borich has been recognised with various industry awards including being inducted into The Australian Blues Foundation's Hall Of Fame. A legend of Australian rock music? You bet!

BOB LOG 111 (USA)
Manic slide guitarist, and one-man blues explosion Bob Log 111 brings his Tucson Arizona trash-blues to Towradgi Rock & Blues Festival for what will be at very least a memorable
night of bluesy, boozey, breast-obsessed mayhem.
Accompanied by his guitar (played with one human hand and one fabled "monkey paw," allegedly transplanted onto his arm after a boating accident), he offers an almost ridiculous but
somehow compelling musical ride, fuelled as much by his love of the guitar as his "appreciation" of the fairer sex.
Log grew up listening to Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and AC/DC. "That's what rock'n'roll is to me. You take a guitar, turn it up and have a good time. That's where I'm from.
Everyone else can go listen to Pearl Jam if they want to."
"In the early days I had a snare drum with a guitar bolted onto it, and I was playing Fred McDowell songs when a friend jumped up and started banging a cheese grater with a spoon," he said.
"The next day we went out on the sidewalk and played, hoping to scrounge up cigarette money."
Times have changed. These days Log is signed to Fat Possum Records alongside artists such as The Black Keys & Dinosaur Jr and now tours world-wide.
In a few words Log's performance could be described as primal, sexual, humorous, impromptu and entertaining. "First of all, if you come to my show knowing I've got a song called "Boob Scotch"
and you get offended, I'm sorry but I've got to say just get out, " he said. As if his legs weren't busy enough playing four kinds of percussion, he also asks women to sit on his knees while he performs.
His feverish slide guitar and stripped down blues has seen Log tour with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, R.L. Burnside and open for Beck, among others.
A few years ago, Log was drafted to fill in on a European tour with the afore-mentioned Blues Explosion, who were performing with Mississippi blues-man R.L. Burnside.
Log says that after the gigs, Burnside assured him he was "hanging in there like a dirty shirt."
"I play bass drum with my right foot and cymbal and two drum machines with my left foot, and I play guitar at the same time, he says. "I'm "drum running", whatever you want to call it,
and I play guitar and sing into the helmet at the same time. The helmet is something of a constant, like the Residents' ubiquitous giant eyeballs. Beyond offbeat haberdashery, though,
Log's headwear is functional, fitted as it is with a microphone, allowing for privacy, snug acoustics and freedom of movement. The latter is an important consideration as Log is a one-man band.
Bob's stage show features merciless slide attacks, fudgy kick drums and knife-sharpening solos - a volatile mix of Mississippi Fred McDowell meets Beck meets Slayer".
"I get cheap guitars nobody else wants and make 'em do stuff nobody else does."
To truly understand the phenomenon that is Log, one must attend one of his live shows, slightly surreal, must be seen-to-be-believed experiences where Log plays the guitar like the salvation of his soul depends on it.

THE DETONATORS (VIC)
The Detonators, through their original songs, reinvent the styles that made the mid to late 50s such a vital time in music’s history. They play an era, not simply a genre They are also the hardest working, most in demand, rockabilly/rock n roll band in the land. That’s why they are again on the festival bill, simple as that. The high priests of roots rock 'n' roll These good ol' boys from Melbourne will be headlining the Saturday night portion of the festival and guarantee everyone a great time. With Rockbottom James Maloney out front revving things up and changin' gears and guitarist Paulie "The Kid" Bignell as ace co-pilot I suggest ya'll buckle up for the ride of your life.

Early 2008 saw Ray and the band represent Australia at The International Blues Challenge held annually in Memphis. THE HIPTONES (SA)
Does the world really need another Soul band? James Black (RocKwiz) will tell you that the answer is "Yes!" but it’s gotta be The Hiptones!
Renee Geyer has stated that.."The Hiptones are one of our great young R&B bands… they're formidable - an oasis in an R&B drought called Australia".
Big wraps and well deserved. This band will captivate you with their cool approach and even cooler sound which could be described as a gumbo of blues and roots music with powerful pop undertones.
Out front is Snooks, a white soul singer with an incredibly powerful voice. Brother T drives the Hammond organ, deftly bridging the gap between retro funk and new soul. Sydney-based musician Adam Pringle lays down sublime guitar and Mark Chewy on the skins, can do it all.

His set list soars from pure rock to dirty blues and roots via the funk. Ngariki appears with his sensational five-piece band.
